When Saga got in touch to see if I wanted to take part in their #GiftToFamily campaign I jumped at the opportunity. There is nothing I enjoy more than giving back to the people I love the most, and I had exactly the thing in mind for this!

With a boyfriend that is obsessed with the Crystal Maze I thought it would be the perfect surprise to produce 2 tickets for him and a friend to visit the famed maze in London next year. The problem was trying to source the tickets! I never realised that SO many people would want to visit the maze, and it was only in April I was able to secure two tickets to visit.

With the tickets purchased and printed, I put together a small note and rhyme to introduce the surprise – something I hoped he would be delighted by… and he certainly was!

I know what it means to be surprised with something small, whether that’s having your dinner ready for you as you return home from work or doing the washing up to save you the job. Those little treats don’t need to cost a fortune, but they are just as important all the same. I was so glad to be able to surprise somebody with a gift that they truly liked and that would mean to much to them – he hasn’t stopped mentioning it since so it definitely worked out as I had hoped!

I know that this small token of my appreciation for all that he does was a welcome treat, and I hope that this inspires others to give something back to their loved ones once in a while. It definitely makes them happy as well as yourself – I couldnt wait to hand over the surprise once I had ordered it! It was definitely just as exciting for me as him.

The reason for Saga hosting this campaign is to highlight the use of equity release which offers the possibility to give something back to your family, find out more about Saga Equity Release here.
