Over the years I have tried so many different types of face masks, each with their own individual promise that they have mostly failed to meet.

So when I began to see such hype, and amazing before/after photos, of new face mask on the block Facetox I knew I had to give it a go! Like many I am sometimes synical about a products merit until I try it myself – but it seems the praise was all true!

Facetox is a mask that you have to mix yourself. You are provided with several sachets of the clay, depending on what size of box you purchase, and several sachets of rose water. Along with this a plastic bowl and spatula are included for mixing.

The combination is simple: add one sachet of one and one of the other, mix and slather on to your face. I did find that doing this made a lot of mask and there would certainly be enough for 2 people – so rope somebody else in where you can!

I like my masks thick and this was great at meeting that criteria, it is advised to keep it on for about 30 minutes and during that time you can feel it solidifying and working away – this mask certainly isn’t painful and doesn’t provide that sometimes uncomfortable titling feeling of other masks I have tried.

Once the 30 minutes are up I used a muslin cloth soaked in warm water to remove the mask. This was slightly tricky due to the thickness of it and took a little while to remove, but once it was off it was immediately noticeable how soft my skin was and that my pores has been reduced. Whilst not dramatic I could tell that with a few more uses they would be practically gone – all with just a few uses of a mask!

The only thing I would advise is not to dispose of any of the leftover clay down the sink/plughole – it’s just going clog that up. It seemed a waste to throw so much of it away but unfortunately it was a night in for one, and at least it meant I didn’t need to use it sparingly!

Over all I would really recommend Facetox, I also like the fact that the individual sachets mean you face mask isn’t going to get ruined in storage – it’s ready exactly when you need it! The addition of a bowl and spatula for the mixing purpose is great too.

I can’t wait to give this a few more tries and see what results I get after a full program. But with brighter and softer skin already it looks incredibly promising!
