City Marque West End Apartment

At the weekend I took a trip up to one of my favourite places – London. It was an overnight stay as City Marque kindly allowed me to stay in one of their apartments as part of their #100nights100bloggers campaign.

The apartment I chose was their “West End” one and located about 5/10 minutes’ walk from Chancery Lane station. The location was perfect; it was a 10 minute walk in different directions to either Covent Garden or Oxford Street. I also had afternoon tea booked for the afternoon in Bloomsbury and that was only a short distance also. There are many restaurants, pubs and a Sainsbury’s around the corner from the apartment so you won’t go short on food and drink!

On arrival at the apartment “check-in” was quick and easy. I had been provided two door codes – one for the main entrance and one for my apartment. They both worked first time and then I was in!

The apartment was lovely, it was a 1-bed and although compact it would be spacious enough for two. The décor of the place was gorgeous, especially the bathroom, and it was spotless too. There were enough towels and pillows for a family of 5 which I liked! Nothing worse than not enough.

The kitchen was equipped with all the basics (coffee, tea, milk) and also cleaning supplies. The bathroom had miniature shampoo, conditioner, etc and a small vanity kit with cotton buds and pads.

Free Wifi was a great feature of the apartment, with the code made very obvious on a large sign placed in the living room.

City Marque were kind enough to send somebody down to knock on my door and present me with a box of chocolates, which I thought was a lovely touch.

My only criticism is that the view from the bedroom window wasn’t fantastic (a view of a wall, inclusive of a soggy sock) but obviously they can’t change the shape of the building and it’s not really a major issue as I don’t spend all day staring out of the bedroom window!

I would 100% stay with City Marque again, especially for a longer break. Their apartments would be perfect as a home-from-home for business people having to stay in the city for a long period of time.

There are apartments from City Marque all across the city and you can find them here.

What a wonderful idea! It sounds like a great place to stay on mid-term trips. A lovely alternative to an impersonal hotel.
    Thanks for sharing.
