Today I am bringing you one of my most favourite products in the whole wide world: Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat.
For many years I had heard this product praised and heralded as a wonder product that no make-up bag should be without. But of course, being slightly skeptical, I took those claims with a pinch of salt. That is until one day when I decided to take the plunge and purchase it in the Christmas sales.
Since then it has become a permanent fixture in my life, traveling everywhere with me and sometimes being the only piece of make-up I feel that I need.
Touche Eclat is a concealer, yes, but somehow it seems to work a whole lot better than any other I have previously tried. Whether you are hungover, tired or ill this little thing will soon have you looking full of life – even if you don’t necessarily feel like you are!
Its creators describe it as a “magic pen brush” which I think is spot on, it certainly is magic indeed! The product blends with your skin to diffuse light under your eyes, all of which helps to create a sense of radiance.
I use this in the morning after my foundation, but also throughout the day and on nights out to top up my make up and keep it looking fresh. It’s use it not limited to around the eyes either, I use this for redness on my cheeks or around my nose. It is also great around the lips to make them look full and pert.
Looking to make the most out of your eyeshadows? Apply this as a base to your lids and it will allow the colours to truly shine through, providing you with a plain base from which to work from.
As for shades, I tend to purchase No.1 which works well for me whether I am my natural paler shade or when I have a tan. It allows me to add powder and a little bronzer to adjust the colour when necessary. Shade 1 is best suited for fair to light olive skin and has a pale pink hue.
What I really lovely about this product is the glamorous, expensive looking packaging. It is a real treat to have this in your make-up bag or to use it on a night out. It couldn’t be simpler to use, just press the base in once or twice and the product will arrive on the brush at the end. I personally don’t use the brush to blend the product but will instead use a separate concealer brush or my fingers.
I have recently come across the website Click Fragrance which sells a range of cheap products, they currently stock Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat from just £21.16 which is a great saving when compared with department stores.
