StyleLux Blackhead Killer

How do you treat yourself at the end of a long week? I tend to run a hot bath, relax and use all of my skincare products! I especially like applying a face mask and being able to sit peacefully for 10-15 minutes.

I find that using face masks 1-2 times a week really helps my skin. I suffer with blackheads on my nose and find that face masks are one of the few things that actually help me to lessen the appearance of these.

I have never specifically bought a blackhead clearing mask before, so when I saw these Blackhead Killer face masks from StyleLux (£14.95 for 5), I thought I would give them a go.

Although, in my opinion, they are slightly expensive – you get what you pay for. I would much rather pay a few pounds more for something that is actually going to work than get something cheaper which does nothing at all.

This face mask promises to “remove pimples in just minute” – a very big claim. Luckily I don’t suffer from pimples so I can’t say whether this is a true statement or not, but if it can do this it must do wonders for black heads!

As the mask dries it is meant to “suck” pimples, blackheads and oil out of your skin. This makes me think the mask will leave my skin feeling dry, but I decided to give it a trial anyway.

The mask can only be described as looking and feeling a little like tar! It is deep black and very sticky. I apply it to my face in the bath to avoid making a complete mess and it takes a little scrubbing to remove the residue from my hands.

After leaving for a short while I am able to begin trying to peel the mask from my face. I don’t know if it’s just me but I can never, ever do this in one go! I always end up peeling small bits off and then washing the rest away.

I wanted to avoid using my Washi hot cloth as I was worried about the dark black mask staining it!

But once the mask was completely removed I was really impressed with the results! My nose looked visably clearer and it felt smoother too.

Although this mask is probably not one of the nicest I have used in terms of appliction and appearance the results totally outway that and I am looking forward to using the next 4 masks.
