Retail Royalty Challenge

Retail Royalty Challenge

I really enjoyed doing the Retail Royalty Challenge, it was interesting to see just what I could get for my money! I struggled at first to find anything cheap enough – MUA at Superdrug was my first thought, but at a minimum of £1 per item I wasn’t going to get more than 30 items.

Then I stumbled across a website called the Cosmetics Fairy and my prayers were answered when I spotted a “99p or under” section.

Rapidly eyeshadows, lipglosses, mascaras, foundations, nail varnishes, concealers and eyeliners flew in to my online basket and I was well underway with the challenge.

After a little bit of maths and double checking of my “shopping list” I proceeded to check out.

In total I got 66 items for £30.03. – which I think is pretty good! That makes each item approx. 46p each, which is especially good considering some of the products are Bourjois and Revlon.

Summer Cocktails

I’m planning a little get together this weekend and have been trying to think of some exciting things to do for the food and drink. Especially the drink. Normally I tend to gravitate towards a glass of wine but with the sun promising to shine this weekend I thought it would be nice to try something a bit more exotic .

I found some really good cocktail recipes and have since spent hours trying to narrow my option down; so far I am down to 4 choices – all of which sound delicious!

Fancy trying something new this weekend too? Here’s my selection below – join in the fun!

Island Oasis

1½ oz. Voli Light Mango Coconut Vodka

6 blueberries

2 strawberries

1 oz. light sweet and sour mix

1 oz. light orange juice

Garnish: blueberries and strawberries

Muddle berries in a glass. Add remaining ingredients and stir. Garnish with blueberries and strawberries.

(Perfect to drink whilst dreaming of that tropical island you wish you were on!)

Infusely Diet Tea

Infusely Diet Tea

Like most of the British population I love a cup of tea – black, two sugars. So much so that recently I seem to have stockpiled a ridiculous amount of fruit and herbal teas. Some I like, some I don’t and today I am going to feature one of them (if only to make me feel better about spending so much money on them!).

Infusely are a brand I wasn’t too familiar with until recently. They offer a select of three teas for various outcomes:

Diet Tea: Fat burning, appetite suppressing, super tea.

Sh.Tea: Reduce bloating, feel healthier, look slimmer.

Complexion Tea: Skin rejuvenation and younger looking.

I am a huge fan of anything bad for you: pizza, crisps, indian, wine and chocolate. So I was hugely relieved when I discovered a chocolate that was good for you – not only that, but it is recommended you eat one a day. That’s a guideline I can follow very easily!

Ohso Chocolate is a weekly subscription service; on the day of your choice 7 bars of the chocolate will be delivered through your letterbox and you get the pleasure of devouring one a day!

One individual Ohso bar contains around a billion Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium bacteria. Research says that that this is the optimum amount of friendly bacteria per day. The friendly bateria helps to positively influence healthy gastrointestinal functions and your immune system.

Glamour LIB Box Review

I’m not a huge fan of beauty boxes, despite having signed up to Glossy Box and the like previously I have always felt disappointed at the products included. I always feel that I would rather have taken the £10/£12 to Boots instead and bought something specific.

But Latest in Beauty are different, you can see exactly what is inside the box before you purchase and therefore there are no disappointments!

The latest box in their array is The Glamour Beauty Edit, including products chosen by Glamour Magazine’s Beauty Director.
