Throughout my years of trying make-up I will admit that I tend to find a favourite, and stick to it – particularly when it comes to foundation. I am not a huge fan of visiting a beauty counter and being colour matched, so when I find a shade that is perfect it will see me through at least the next few years! But recently I wanted a bit of a change – which lead me to MAC.
MAC Cosmetics are known worldwide and the favourite of many models, bloggers and vloggers alike. I therefore knew I would be in safe hands, the difficulty was knowing what to choose!
I knew foundation was a priority and so I settled on the Face and Body Foundation that I had previously heard good things about. This foundation is quite light in coverage and needs either 2 layers, or to be combined with another foundation to give you full coverage but it was perfect on my recent holiday and great for those that don’t suffer from too much redness or similar.
I find that this wears well throughout the day and also doesnt appear to come off on my fingers and clothes as much as some other foundations either – I am a total horror for touching my face and forgetting there is make-up on it!
After seeing countless tutorials on YouTube and Instagram on countouring I felt I was ready to give it a try too, which is how this “All The Right Angles Contouring Pallette” ended up in my basket.
Featuring a bronze shade, blush and highlighter this is essentially everything you need to get that chiseled look! I also snapped up a contouring brush to ensure that I have everything I need. I will admit that my skills still need honing, but even just using the bronzer and highlighter normally I really like these products and don’t find them too over powering. With fair skin some bronzers can be too harsh, but this adds a nice hint of colour.
Finally, I treated myself to a “Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour” in a purple/blush tone. I absolutely love the colour of this, and the matte effect but I am afraid this product is not for me. Despite trying to moisturise my lips and exfoliate them too before application, this product just seems to dry out my lips and leave them looking a little flaky. Ultimately this means that the product has worn off before I have even left the house. Not a winner!
However I am writing this post after having just placed a new order for MAC products so it can’t have been all bad! I can’t wait to give them a try too and develop my MAC collection further.
What are you favourite MAC products – any I just need to try?0
