I follow several people that are gluten and/or dairy intolerant and often hear them complain that they are limited to a small selection of products because of this. It’s such a shame to have to miss out on things like cake, pasta and breads so it is really great to see companies that specialise in this market and try to bring them new and exciting products that they otherwise wouldn’t be allowed to consume.
Following my recent spate of food box reviews (they are SO my favourite thing!) I bring you Crate of Nothing and their first ever box. Crate of Nothing offer either a gluten free box or a gluten and dairy free box, costing £22.50 for a single box or just £20 if you take out a monthly subscription both with free delivery (find out more here).
What I was really delighted to see with this box is that there was a selection of fresh food, primarily cakes. Usually with these sorts of boxes you get “pantry” food and things that will last, but I actually really like the idea of having fresh food delivered as it means you can treat yourself straight away.
These cakes were delicious too, especially the lemon cake push up!
Here’s what was inside the box:
Big Oz On the Go Gluten Free Porridge
Steph’s Kitchen Ginger Bread Man
Lemon Drizzle Cake
Lemon Drizzle Cake Push Up
BRaw Cereal Bar
Recipe and ingredients for gluten & dairy free brownies – YUM!
The idea of providing the recipe and ingredients to make cakes it one that I really like, especially because they are chocolate brownies! They have also made it simple because everything has been weighed out and bagged; meaning the only thing you need to do is the mixing!
Overall I am really impressed with Crate of Nothing and will certainly be purchasing a box in the future.
